About
Ama Kyei is a Finnish-Ghanaian dance enhusiast and a doula. In the dance community she is best known as a house dancer but she would describe herself as a mover, since the core to her dance is beyond a dance culture/style. She has special love for dance cultures originated from the African continent and diaspora.
Ama has studied hip hop culture at Åsa folkhögskola for two years (2014-2016). She has a bachelor i dance pedagogy form The university of the arts in Stockholm (2017-2020). She studied a course called "Thinking and dancing differently the traditional dances from Africa" in Senegal in Ecole des sables (2019). Besides her traditional studies she has educated herself through travelling in Europe, USA and West Africa.
Besides her dance passion she is passionated about anything and everything that has to do with holistic healing. Her calling to do this work is through her doula practice. She did her doula studies in Cape Coast, Ghana in 2022.
